Assassin’s Creed Shadows Delayed to 2025, Major Updates Revealed
Ubisoft has announced that “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” originally scheduled for a November 2024 release, will now launch on February 14, 2025. The delay is aimed at giving the development team additional time to enhance the overall quality of the game.
The game is set in 16th-century Japan, during the era of reunification under Oda Nobunaga. It introduces two protagonists: Yasuke, a samurai, and Naoe, a shinobi assassin. This dual-character system offers players diverse gameplay experiences, blending traditional Assassin’s Creed elements with new storytelling perspectives.
Ubisoft has also decided to forgo the traditional “Season Pass” model for the game. Pre-orders for the canceled season pass have been refunded, and future pre-orders will include the first expansion at no extra cost. Additionally, the PC version of the game will launch simultaneously across multiple platforms, including Steam, marking a shift in the company’s distribution strategy.
This delay positions “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” among several high-profile releases in early 2025, promising a competitive landscape for gamers. Ubisoft aims to ensure the game meets the high expectations of its dedicated fanbase by prioritizing quality and polish.
